13/03/2010 Whitty wins the Harken Women's International Youth Match Racing Regatta
Lucinda Whitty, representing Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, and her crew of Stacey Jackson and Nina Curtis, have won the Harken Women's International Match Racing Regatta in convincing style with three straight wins in the Grand Final.

The highly competitive Farr 40 class put everything on the table today when the fleet sailed four races on day one of the 2010 Farr 40 Australian Championship. Defending champion Guido Belgiorno Nettis and his team on Transfusion started the day out with a win in the first race.

12/03/2010 Osborne and Eastwell hand Whitty her first defeats of the Harken Women's International
Samantha Osborne, representing Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, had a clear goal in her match against Lucinda Whitty - to ruin Whitty's perfect scorecard in the Harken Women's International Match Racing Regatta. Their match in the final flight of round robin two was a duel with Osborne taking the win by half a boat length.

Lucinda Whitty and Samantha Osborne are locked in a trans-Tasman battle at the top of the leader board at the end of round robin one in the Harken Women's International Match Racing Regatta, being hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

09/03/2010 Berrimilla heading for Sydney at end of circumnavigation
Intrepid sailors Alex Whitworth and Peter Crozier sailed out of Hobart today aboard their 10m sloop Berrimilla, bound for their home port of Sydney and their home clubs, the Royal Australian Navy Sailing Assocation (RANSA) and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

09/03/2010 World's Best Women's Match Racers Arrive for Harken Women's International Match Racing Regatta
Some of the world's best women's match racers from Australia and New Zealand shared flights across the Tasman, flying in from Auckland following the New Zealand Women's Match Racing Championship. The highest ranked skipper in the regatta, Samantha Osborne (RNZYS) arrived yesterday, and is looking forward to taking on the Australian's again after finishing in third place behind Katie Pellew and Nicky Souter in the Auckland event.

CYCA Cruising, together with 6 boats from RPAYC, spent the weekend of the 9th and 10th January as guests of the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. We took the easy option of sailing north in two legs, overnighting in Pittwater and then riding an ESE breeze the 48nm to Newcastle.

Those seas and wind against current will pose the first major tactical decision for skippers - whether to head offshore to find the northerly current that acts as a sort of conveyor belt south, but at the cost of pounding into steeper, bigger waves which can damage the boat, or to stay inshore where the waves should not be as steep.

29/07/2009 Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race Fleet Home, Sanyo Maris Retires and Results Confirmed

At midnight last night Ian Kiernan and Tiare Tomaszewski's Tasman Seabird Sanyo Maris retired just south of Cape Byron due to wind conditions. Sanyo Maris was expected to arrive at Southport at approx. 8.25am this morning. This meant that The Rum Consortium's Davidson 12 Phillips Foote Witchdoctor was the last yacht to finish the 24th Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race at 9.31pm on 28 July 2009.
